Toum - Lebanese garlic dip

Garlic is a powerful anti-inflammatory food that has been shown to be helpful for lowering cholesterol, improving immunity, regulating blood sugar, feeding good gut bacteria and preventing overgrowth of fungals like Candida.

This dip is the balm for everthing savory. Slap it on veggies, roasted salmon or savory crackers or add equal parts water and olive oil for a decadent salad dressing.

Ingredients

  • 4 bulbs Garlic (You can buy pre-peeled in an 8 oz. jar but I don’t recommend buying minced)

  • 2 tsps Sea Salt (to taste)

  • 2 cups Extra Virgin Olive Oil

  • 1/2 cup Lemon Juice

  • 1 cup Filtered Water

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, pour salt over garlic bulbs. Let sit for 10 minutes. Pulse until minced.

  2. Drizzle oil slowly while garlic mixture is pulsing. Alternate in lemon juice. Mix for up to 15 minutes until mixture is creamy and smooth.

  3. Drizzle in water by 1/4 cups until desired consistency is reached.

Options: Feel free to add fresh herbs like parsley or dill.

Keep sealed in the fridge for up to 3 days.
